Reinhard Mey, of all people, once sang: “There are no more cockchafers.” That’s not true, at least not in a sporting context. When doing the cockchafer, you lie on your back, but you’re not helpless at all. It’s a perfect stretching exercise for anyone who sits too much and feels a little too stiff in the lower back. And it’s perfectly acceptable to do this exercise in any month of the year.
