In the duel between the two title favorites, the FC Bayern basketball players dealt Alba Berlin a bitter slap. The Munich team took a big step towards first place after the main round with 77:53 (46:22) on Sunday (May 5th, 2024). Three games before the end of the season, the Munich team has two more wins than Alba. First place after the main round would give Bayern home advantage in all playoff rounds.

Alba got off to a better start and quickly moved ahead to 12:2. But then Munich picked themselves up and reduced the deficit to one point by the end of the first quarter (16:17). Bayern then won the second period 30:5. In doing so, they literally demonstrated the weakened Berliners. The top game was decided early on.
