Farewell to AC Milan: Olivier Giroud Announces Move to MLS

Olivier Giroud will leave AC Milan after three years.

The Frenchman announced his departure in an emotional video message via social media: “I’m here to tell you that the next two games will be my last for Milan. My career will continue in the MLS,” explains the renowned striker.

Giroud’s contract with the Rossoneri expires at the end of the season. The 37-year-old will join Los Angeles FC and, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, will sign a contract until December 2025. At LAFC he will meet goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, with whom he played in almost 100 games in the French national team.

“I am very proud of everything I have achieved here at Milan in three seasons. My story with Milan ends this year, but Milan will remain in my heart forever,” said Giroud.

The 2018 world champion and record goalscorer for the French national team won the Italian championship with Milan in 2022. Despite his advanced age, Giroud was an important part of Stefano Pioli’s team until the end, scoring a total of 48 goals in 130 competitive games for the “Rossoneri”.
