Pallagorio – Fili Meridiani organized al SPAZIO ARBERIA MUSEUM in Pallagorio an exhibition dedicated to Anselmo Lorecchio, an intellectual and politician of extraordinary value, who left an indelible mark on the history of Albania, contributing significantly to the fight for independence.
Anselmo Lorecchio, passionate patriot, he dedicated 27 years of his life to the publication of the fortnightly magazine “The Albanian Nation“, which played a fundamental role in encouraging national sentiment and spreading ideas for the liberation and affirmation of the Albanian nation.
The President of Meridian Threads, Ursula Basta declared: “The exhibition dedicated to Anselmo Lorecchio represents a dutiful homage to a man who contributed in an extraordinary way to Albanian history and culture starting from the arberia. We are honored to have worked on this event, and we believe his life and work can inspire future generations.”
Furthermore, Ettore Bonanno, curator of the exhibition contents, added: “I was deeply involved in the research and selection of the exhibition materials that narrate the life and work of Anselmo Lorecchio. It has been an emotional journey through Albanian history and culture, and I am grateful to be able to share this journey with the public through this commemorative exhibition.”
The event will be held on Thursday 2 May at 10:00 am and will represent a unique opportunity to reflect on Lorecchio’s legacy and contribution to the national cause. The exhibition will be open to the public from 2 to 9 May and during the day of May 3rd when there will be centenary events with the heads of state and the highest institutions in Italy and the Albanian world, in addition to the international study conference. The exhibition will reopen from 14 to 31 May, offering everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves in the life and work of this extraordinary character.
During the opening ceremony, a tribute video created by the children of IC VERZINO will be screened of the primary school of Carfizzi and Pallagorio, in collaboration with Fili Meridiani. This artistic tribute will also be presented at the “Cultural Folkloristic for the Valorization of Ethnic-Linguistic Minorities” exhibition, now in its 30th edition and which will be held on May 25th at the University of Calabria. The event represents a unique opportunity to honor the memory of Anselmo Lorecchio and to celebrate his extraordinary contribution to Albanian history and culture. Everyone is invited to participate and witness this significant moment.
