Clear the ring for our basketball legend!
Dirk Nowitzki (45) made a very special appearance on US television on Sunday night. He was an expert on the mega-popular show “NBA on TNT.”
There he replaced Shaquille O’Neal, who was unable to attend. So Nowitzki sat down next to presenter Ernie Johnson and basketball greats Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith in the studio in Atlanta.

“NBA on TNT” is THE Americans’ sports show. The motto: informative, but also extremely entertaining.
Moderator Johnson greeted Nowitzki in German: “Good evening, my friend.”
In keeping with the stereotype of a German, the station booked a Bavarian brass band. The “Huntsville Little German Band” (600 followers on Facebook) sang a song.
Nowitzki clapped happily and even danced a little at the end. Splendid!

Dirk Nowitzki reveals his childhood crush
Our 2011 NBA champion later confessed that rapper Foxy Brown was his big crush when he was younger. He also really liked Lil’ Kim, Nowitzki added.
But he didn’t just provide entertainment. Nowitzki revealed how much the game has developed in the NBA. “I would certainly have blossomed even more as a scorer. That would have been a really good time. But as a defender I would have had big problems,” he analyzed.
Nowitzki is celebrated by fans for the combination of entertainment and professional expertise! Many have even called for a permanent contract for the German basketball legend.

In Atlanta he analyzed the Denver Nuggets game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the first game of the second playoff round, the Timberwolves prevailed in an exciting game against the reigning champions from Denver with 106:99.
But his appearance on TNT was probably just an exception…
