Defeats for Leoben and FAC

The 26th round of the Admiral 2nd League did not bring any sense of success for DSV TGI Gold Leoben and the FAC. Leoben, the first pursuer of second-placed SV Guntamatic Ried, couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against St. Pölten on Friday. The fourth-place team from Floridsdorf lost 2-3 to bottom team Amstetten.

Matthias Puschl achieved a 3-1 win at FC Mohren Dornbirn in his debut performance as Kapfenberg’s player-coach, with the Styrians’ last two goals only coming in stoppage time by Alexander Hofleitner. Liefering celebrated a 4-1 win over the SK Sturm second team, Stripfing and Lafnitz drew 1-1.

Amstetten is already arithmetically relegated, but the question of relegation could at least be partially answered at the green table. Because Leoben and Dornbirn are still without a license for the coming season, and the regional league teams Austria Salzburg and Hertha Wels currently do not have permission to play – the Permanent Neutral Arbitration Court is likely to decide their fate. As things stand, only two teams from the regional leagues, ASK Voitsberg and Rapid II, would meet all the criteria for promotion.
