In the high-security match, which had already seen riots as the rival fan groups arrived, former Bundesliga professional Ousmane Dembélé put the Parisians in the lead in the 22nd minute. Long before the break, Fabián Ruiz increased the lead to 2-0 (34th).
But Lyon came back into the game at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy near Lille with a goal from Jake O’Brien in the 55th minute. But it was not enough to equalize. For PSG it was the 15th victory in the Coupe de France and the first since 2021.

Due to the great rivalry between the fan groups of both teams, the match was classified as a high-security game. Nevertheless, riots broke out on the way there. According to French media reports, fans threw flares at buses full of opposing supporters.
