Belgian Para Badminton Player Man-Kei To Selected for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Para badminton player Man-Kei To is the first Belgian athlete officially selected for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games (August 28-September 8), the Belgian Paralympic Committee (BPC) announced on Friday.

Second in the “Race to Paris”, the Olympic qualification ranking, at the end of the qualification period in class WH1 (wheelchair), Man-Kei To will be entered in the women’s singles in Paris. The Ninove player won the title of European champion in 2023 and won bronze at the Worlds last February.

“This first selection is obviously an important moment towards the Paris Paralympic Games,” explained Olek Kazimirowski, general director of the BPC and head of mission for the Paris Games. “It truly launches the construction of the team which will represent our country in the French capital this summer. For the athlete and his management, being officially selected allows him to focus 100% on his preparation in this final straight, in a way to give ourselves every chance of achieving our objectives in Paris.”

Para badminton entered the program of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2021. In Paris, the para badminton competitions will take place from Thursday August 29 to Monday September 2 at the Arena Porte de la Chapelle.
