The mayor of Sports, Alejandro Carretero, presented this Wednesday the Andalusian Under-15 and Under-19 Championship, which will be held this weekend and is organized by the Andalusian Badminton Federation and the Benalmádena Badminton Club; and sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía and the Benalmádena City Council. This event will have a total of 100 participants, 40 female athletes and 60 male athletes, (135 registrations) distributed among 21 clubs from the different Andalusian provinces.
Carretero has highlighted the high number of local participants, with 14 players from the Benalmádena Badminton Club (nine under-15 and five under-19) starting with podium options in most of the modalities.
The competition will begin on Saturday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. at the Arroyo de la Miel Sports Center, on the first day of competition where the round of 16, round of 16 and quarterfinals will be played. The semi-finals and finals are scheduled for Sunday, May 26, after which it will be known who the new champions of Andalusia are in an event that is scheduled to end around 2:00 p.m., with the traditional ceremony of medal delivery.
