Ferrari Racing Team Ready to Shine at the Monaco Grand Prix: Supporting Leclerc’s Special Race

The Cavallino team principal and the Principality’s race: “We want to be protagonists: for Charles it is a special race, we know he has very strong motivations and we are ready to support him to achieve his goal”

After third place in the home GP, in Imola, Ferrari starts again immediately, going to the assault on the Principality of Monaco, where over the weekend they race on the evocative city circuit of Monte Carlo. A special event for the drivers and full of glamour, which the Cavallino hopes to celebrate by achieving a success that has been missing on the Monegasque roads since 2017, when he scored with Sebastian Vettel.

For the occasion, Maranello presents itself with an SF-24 renewed in some crucial points to adapt it to city streets: there is in fact a specific rear wing and a Power Unit calibrated in the best configuration for low-speed corners and high traction. Ferrari is fired up, hoping for success and Team Principal Frederic Vasseur underlines this, hoping for a step forward especially in qualifying: “Monaco is a circuit where overtaking with the current generation of single-seaters is very difficult: qualifying will be fundamental and we will have to try to take that step that we still lacked in the season to start in front of everyone. We have prepared in detail in the simulator and we hope to be protagonists.”

gp thesis

The race in the Principality is especially special for home idol Charles Leclerc, who was born on the streets of Monaco and where he would really like to achieve a success that has always eluded him due to many unfortunate situations. Vasseur knows this and underlines one aspect: “Ferrari, as a team, wants to help him close the open account he has with the Monte Carlo track. Carlos Sainz also loves Monte Carlo, where he obtained his first podium with a Ferrari, therefore the motivations for both are very tall.”
