Venezuela Shines with Gold Medals in Wrestling, Judo, and Athletics at Bolivarian Youth Games

Wrestling contributed a good number of gold medals, judo and athletics also added metals of the highest value so that Venezuela completed another new productive day during the penultimate date of competitions of the I Bolivarian Youth Games Sucre 2024, which will culminate this Sunday with the greatest success on Bolivian soil.

Mariangel Gallardo won the gold medal in the 43 kilogram category, escorted in her intervention at the event by Xiomara Mesa (Ecuador) with the silver medal and Heilyn Aguirre (Bolivia) with the bronze medal.

Ariana Cuauro achieved the precious metal in the 65 kilo division, leaving the silver medal for Leiddy Acuña (Ecuador) and the bronze medal for Romina Garro (Peru).

Nairam Jaime was the champion in wrestling at 57 kilograms, Luisinna Navia (Ecuador) won the silver medal and Jeanice Mejía (Panama) won the bronze medal.

Andreilyn Zamora won top honors in the 49 kilograms, escorted by Valeria Álvarez (Ecuador) with silver and Yumaira Russell (Panama) with bronze.

In the 73 kilo wrestling category, the victory and therefore the gold medal went to the Colombian Diana Carmona, silver to the Venezuelan Jualianny Rodríguez and the bronze went to Chelse Carhuallanqui (Peru).

Haniel De Jesús Rodríguez, achieved the highest value metal in the 48 kilograms in Greco-Roman wrestling, the silver medal went to Ronald Morales (Ecuador) and the bronze medal to Andres Gallego (Colombia).

Two other medalists for Venezuela, both with bronze, Sahid González, in 110 kilograms and Nelson Moreno in 55 kg.

Gold in the men’s 800 meters

Jhoiner Gabriel Delgado gave Venezuela the gold medal by beating Chilean Lucas Jara in the grand final. The Venezuelan clocked 1 minute, 54 seconds and 64 tenths to claim the victory, ahead of his rival who stopped the timers at 1.55.42 and took the silver medal, the bronze medal went to Giancarlo Bravo (Peru) with 1.56.31.

María Celeste Rojas won the silver medal in the women’s 800 meters.

Colombia champion of the I Bolivarian Youth Games

In the absence of a date for the end of the competitions of the I Bolivarian Youth Games Sucre 2024, the Colombian delegation already has first place assured given the wealth of 63 gold medals, 46 silver and 48 bronze for a total of 157 awards, followed by Venezuela with 55 gold, 40 silver and 42 bronze for a total of 137 medals; Chile later appears with 24-35-43 for 102 in total; Ecuador 21-27-23 for 71; Peru, 7-6-9 for 32; Panama 7-6-9 for 22 and Bolivia closes with 6, 17-34 for 57 medals.
