UAT Athletes Excel in Regional Tournaments, Secure Spots for Aguascalientes 2024 National Universiade

JUDOCA ADVANCE: The judoka from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, José Alfredo Quinta López, processed the passport to the Aguascalientes 2024 National Universiade, by imposing conditions in the CONDDE Regional Judo Tournament, which was held in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León .

The fair of Region 1, in which exponents from Coahuila, Nuevo León participate
and Tamaulipas, took place in the Combat Pavilion of the Neolonian High Performance Center, this Friday, April 19.

The national team advanced to the Universiade in first place in the category
of -66 kilograms of body weight, in which he won 2 fights to 1 against his counterpart from the
Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Ramón Hernández, who is the current champion
university national.

The judo of the National Universiade will take place from May 17 to 20 in
facilities of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes.

It should be noted that the Tampiqueño is concentrated with the National Team
National specialty in the High Performance Center of Mexico City,
where he traveled expressly to play the Regional, with a return ticket for this Saturday.

WOMEN’S SOFTBALL: The women’s softball team of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas achieved its pass to the Aguascalientes 2024 National Universiade, by finishing in second place in the CONDDE Regional Tournament, which was held over the weekend in Nuevo León.

The matches took place on the Tigre Blanco Softball field of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, where those led by coach Diana Casillo accounted this Sunday for the Osas of the Autonomous University of the Northeast, with a resounding score of 27 runs for one , in just 3 entries.

On the first day, Correcaminos UAT beat the Lobas of the Autonomous University of Coahuila by 14 runs to 6, in the second match they gave up the victory 0-9 to the Tigrillas of the UANL and in the third match the UAT ninth team overwhelmed 27 -1 to the UANE Bears.

In this way, the UANL advanced undefeated in first place with 3-0 and the UAT in second with 2-1, relegating the UAdeC to third place with 1-2 and the UANE to fourth place.

Excellent work by Lizbeth García on the mound of responsibilities, securing the two triumphs for Correcaminos, combined with the work of the team led by Diana Castillo and her assistant Remigio Calderas.

Sofia Perez, Ingrid Lazcano, Sherlyn Torres, Fernanda Arcos, Jasmine Guel, Dew Miranda, Camila Plata, Edith De Leija, Ana Abundis, Daryl Hernandez, Karina Perez, Manyely Gomez, Edna Ochoa, Lizbeth Garcia, Mariana Diaz and Melissa Guevara the first pass to the UAT for the Universiade, in so far as ensemble sports are concerned.

The 2024 National Universiade softball that the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes will host is scheduled for May 11-18.

As for men’s baseball, the UAT team was left out, as were the chess players.
