The Return Taro Derby: Rugby Noceto vs Rugby Parma Match Recap

A purely summer day with suffocating heat was the setting for the return Taro derby which took place yesterday on the grass of the Nando Capra stadium in Noceto.

Like all self-respecting derbies, it was a real match, played, like the first leg, point to point. At the Banchini in the end the yellow-blue team had prevailed Rugby Parmaat Capra those of Noceto. Draw and draw and ball in the center, therefore, just like last year. Tough match also due to the suffocating heat which we are not yet used to and which forced many water breaks; for this reason alone, all 46 players who took to the field deserve open applause.

A big applause to the men in the visiting scrum who literally swept away the home team, earning lots of free kicks which, in the end, even if a little late, cost the Nocetano prop Quaranta who had recently come off the bench a yellow card. Even the touch went much better, but little luck from the pitch.

Noceto opened the scoring with goalkeeper Leituala who placed a free kick in the 6th minute, but after 3 minutes only Abdelaziz Atalla served with a kick in the goal area surprised the home defense and smashed it over the line. Noceto doesn’t have it and first finds another free kick, then goes for a goal, converted, with the third line Serafini to take the lead. Before the end of the half, Rugby Parma earned three free kicks, two of which were converted by Gennari, which brought the score to 13-13.

Upon returning to the field, Rugby Parma attacks and with the scrum manages to earn 3 more free kicks, of which only one goes between the posts, which puts the guests back in the lead until Noceto manages to mark, without converting, with a drive from touch on the 5 meters. In the last minutes, which seemed eternal to everyone present, Rugby Parma still got two free kicks which they chose to place from difficult positions and which unfortunately did not reach the target.

Before the kick-off, the large crowd present was able to applaud the second/third line of Rugby Parma Giovanni Caselli who wore the yellow and blue shirt for the hundredth time during the derby, honoring it, once again, with an excellent performance on the pitch.
