Sky raises prices from June: more expensive subscriptions for sports and football packages – What’s new

Rome, 16 April. (Adnkronos) – How do sustainability and economic development go together? “This is the challenge. It’s about keeping our feet on the ground, understanding that what we are experiencing is an epochal change dictated by many factors: climate change, choices at state level, choices due to membership of the EU and choices due to military alliances. Everything affects”. Thus the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto speaking at the Adnkronos Q&A event ‘The new paths of sustainability’ at the Palazzo dell’Informazione.

“It’s about giving directions that allow opportunities to be seized. The ecological and energy transition is not something to defend ourselves from: we are a transformative country and we must seize it as an opportunity to be the first and have the best product”, he adds.

“I trust” in a different approach from Europe, also in view of the next European vote; “if the ideological drift could have been justified before 2020 when we were thinking about 2050 and could launch ourselves into dreams, it was no longer admissible when we tried to regulate situations that even made us smile, if we think that gas was not in the EU taxonomy , and nuclear power itself, or when the first proposals on buildings came out. Fortunately, the atmosphere, towards realism, has already changed in recent months also in the Commission; we have seen it on houses and packaging”, he explains.

Regarding the directive on green homes, “I have a working group that is studying the overall picture of the state of buildings in Italy. A working group that has a specific mandate: to outline the path from here to 2050 to reach point zero and identify what the fundamental actions are with a proposal for State intervention on the merits”.

“The effort is also to respect the directive that we must implement in the two-year period; there are spaces for action at the level of individual nations but we must not think that we are only on defense, we must be determined in achieving the objective. An objective that is more difficult for Italy compared to Northern European countries because we have over 70% of buildings over 70 years old and 80% of Italian owners”, he adds.

New generation nuclear power “I believe it is the best way to give continuity and guarantee to energy production. Today we can say that we have exceeded 40% of the gas withdrawal we had from Russia, we have replaced it by activating all possible supply spaces All this still needs to be rebalanced and must have additions such as Piombino, which is already in operation, Ravenna, and if we close the agreement with the new Sardinian council, Porto Torres – says Pichetto – this mix of pipelines and regasifiers should give us a guarantee. of the transition vehicle which must go down with a view to 2050. On the other hand, renewables must go up: photovoltaic, wind and I trust, in a not immediate future, in a significant offshore sector;

“Photovoltaic and wind power are intermittent – he concludes – to provide continuity there is hydroelectric, as far as can be done, geothermal, hydrogen, but new generation nuclear power is what will probably provide continuity and a solution to the continuous increase in energy demand”.
