The Arab Club Basketball Championship: A History of Champions

The Arab Club Basketball Championship, also known as the Arab Club Basketball Championship, is an international basketball competition organized by the Arab Basketball Confederation, composed of club teams from the nations of the Arab World[1].

The competition takes place annually, generally around the month of October, in a single venue where all the matches are played. The tournament typically involves the participation of a number of teams ranging from 16 to 18.

The first edition of the competition was held in 1976 and saw the victory of the Syrians of Jalaa Aleppo who defeated the Jordanian team of Orthodox in the final, thus becoming the first team to earn the title of Arab Champion.

The most successful team in the history of the competition is Al-Ittihad Alexandria, who managed to win the tournament in seven editions: 1987, 1991, 1995, 1996, 2002, 2018, 2019[2].
