With good dividends in terms of results, the judo discipline in Michoacán continues with the training of new talents through its academy that coordinates efforts with the Michoacán Judo Association.
Judo is a traditional Japanese martial art derived from jiu-jitsu, the hand-to-hand combat technique of ancient samurai warriors. The founding of this discipline is attributed to Dr. Jigoro Kano, after he opened his first dojo (school), the kōdōkan, in Tokyo in 1882. Subsequently, the discipline became global.
In the entity, his practice has been recorded since 1993, when coach Luis Emilio Montes de Oca Torres decided to embark on a coaching career to promote Michoacan talent, after establishing himself as a national medalist from his native country, Cuba.
To date, the discipline has produced various exponents with national and international relevance, such as Sandra Ivonne Sánchez Soriano, Mónica Hernández Plascencia, Daniela Rodríguez Martínez, Emil Said Montes de Oca, Sergio García Malfavón, among others, who have put into practice raise the name of Michoacán and Mexico in the world.
On their way to National Conade, the specialty association classified four martial artists to National Conade 2024, after the Macro Regional that was held over the weekend in Querétaro.
