It’s not just Novak Djokovic and Rohan Bopanna, the old men at the top of the world, who show that no athlete species ages as well as tennis players. Because sport has been proven to prolong life.

Two mature men, one of whom already has a noticeable number of streaks of gray in his hair, make their competitors look pretty old. On the one hand, there is Novak Djokovic, as of Monday at 36 years and 321 days the oldest world number one in singles that tennis has ever seen for men or women. On the other hand, there is Rohan Bopanna, who is gray on his head and in his full beard, who is 44 years and 27 days old in India and has been at the top in doubles for a while.

“We are old, but gold!” was their message to the world when Djokovic and Bopanna met to chat on the sidelines of the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo and had this documented and distributed in a video.
