The judo sector of the SSD Real Box of Sellia Marina stood out in Apulia (which includes among its disciplines, in addition to judo, artistic gymnastics, boxing, cross training, functional training, calisthenics, powerlifting, streetlifting, bodybuilding) chaired by Giuseppe German.
The only Calabrian representative to compete on Sunday 7 April at the 2nd Judo Trophy “Città di Francavilla Fontana”, organized by The Tiger school with the patronage of the CSEN sports promotion body, within the splendid setting of the Francavilla Fontana sports hall (BR), in the presence of the local civil authorities, of the national referee manager of CSEN Mr. Mauro PONZI and in front of a wonderful audience that packed the stands.
The Calabrian athletes competed in a tournament in which over 230 athletes belonging to numerous sports clubs were present.
The young judokas, guided by the decades of experience of the technical teacher and national referee, Maestro Piero Codispoti and the technical coach teacher Davide Codispoti, achieved excellent results, collecting two gold medals in the various categories with FRATTO Antonio and FRATTO Luca and four silver medals with COCO Mattia, FORASTIERO Joele, FORASTIERO Greta Zoe and BARBERA Giuseppe. These surprising results have allowed the judo team to achieve an excellent corporate position. Furthermore, the brilliant performances of the individual athletes prompted many professionals to congratulate the Real Box athletes.
At the end of the race, Maestro Piero Codispoti said he was satisfied with the performances of his boys, declaring that he was already focused on achieving ever greater satisfaction in the next races that will be held both in Calabria and in other regions of the Peninsula, but above all on growth technique and personal skills of the students, demonstrating that judo, before being an Olympic discipline, is a school of life.
