The baseball day held mixed emotions for the Rho teams. While the U18 scored an important victory away in Codogno, the First Team had to suffer a defeat on their home diamond against Lodi. At the same time, the U15 match against Ares was postponed due to bad weather and the U12 benefited from a rest period.
Setback for the Rho baseball first team
The U18 victory, sealed with a score of 6 to 4, was a true demonstration of courage and determination. The young athletes overcame difficulties, especially in defence, bringing home a very important result.
On the contrary, the First Team went through a complicated day. Few hits and numerous errors both in defense and on the pitching mound led to a clear home defeat against Lodi which ended 14-4. In addition to the absence of some key players, the mistakes made were excessive for a team aiming for high goals.
The U15 match (Rho-Ares) was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The next appointment is set for May 1st in Malnate, weather permitting.
Next weekend’s appointments
The next weekend promises to be full of baseball: on Saturday the U18 will host Lodi on their home diamond and the U12, albeit as a guest team, will face the Braves on the Rho field. On Sunday it will be the turn of the U15s, who will move to Legnano, while the First Team will be busy in Genoa.
Despite the challenges and mixed results this week, the commitment and passion for baseball remains undiminished. The Rho teams are already ready to roll up their sleeves and return to the field with the intent of giving their all and reversing the trend.
