Solidarity, camaraderie and union are synonymous with sport and this has been demonstrated in the activity that around 600 students from the Júpiter and Maestro Pepe González schools have carried out at the Felipe del Valle stadium.

On the occasion of World Health Day, both centers have joined the ‘Activate your solidarity’ project whose motto this year is ‘My health, my right’. This is an initiative of the territorial delegation of Health and Consumer Affairs and the territorial delegation of Educational Development, Vocational Training and University, Research and Innovation in Seville whose objectives are to mobilize students towards an active and healthy lifestyle and work towards achieving it. of the Sustainable Development Goals. The project offers a catalog of eight healthy actions that can be carried out between April 1 and 15, and the participating schools in the municipality have signed up for the solidarity races. This year, visibility will be given to the work carried out by the NGO Vicente Ferrer Foundation, which has been working for more than 50 years to transform the lives of people at risk of discrimination, inequality or poverty. The schools have designed solidarity bibs for students and teachers and with the voluntary contribution of one euro, the proceeds will go to the ONGD.

For two days, the municipal stadium hosted these solidarity races, where schoolchildren competed healthily and debated healthy eating and playing sports. All this combined by camaraderie and enthusiasm.

The delegate of Education, Antonio Marín, who has visited this activity, has referred, first of all, “the importance of schools carrying out joint activities since it helps to weave networks and common projects that enrich the educational community of the municipality.” The municipal official has also pointed out “the importance of boys and girls engaging in healthy activities such as sports from an early age, knowing that a healthy diet and practicing sports will lead to better physical and mental development.”
