This Wednesday, Sporting opened a new space at its Mareo facilities. The opening of the gym has been joined by that of the clinic, an adjacent space that concentrates the work of the Applied Sciences department established by Orlegi upon his arrival at the club. This new investment, financed through CVC funds, continues the modernization of the club in recent months, giving a radical change to the main building of the red-and-white facilities.

New spaces for the diagnosis and treatment of injuries, as well as for the recovery of footballers. Sporting expands and improves the place where the first team and youth players were treated, one of the aspects that the Orlegi Group established as a priority once it landed in Gijón. In addition, there will be machinery already used last summer to carry out medical examinations prior to the start of the season. A basic piece is missing that will see the light of day in the coming days, the therapeutic tank. Much of the rehabilitation work carried out by other clubs such as Atlas and Santos has been based on this rehabilitation pool, the latter being the first in which this practice was encouraged within the group.

The premieres will continue with news for the first team. In this same month of April, Sporting is scheduled to change in the locker room reserved for the squad led by Miguel Ángel Ramírez, which is also undergoing a full renovation to adapt it to the new needs of the club.
