Seraing Faces Relegation and Ownership Uncertainty: A Double Blow for the Club

A decision will be made on Friday evening about who will be promoted to the Jupiler Pro League together with Beerschot, but also who will be relegated from the Challenger Pro League to the amateur series. For KV Oostende or Seraing this would be a second consecutive relegation.

A horror scenario threatens either Seraing or KV Oostende. One of the two teams is immediately relegated to amateur football twelve months after being relegated from the Jupiler Pro League. That would be a horror scenario for both teams.

At Ostend an administrator is working to save the club in extra-sports terms, at Seraing it is also still a matter of waiting. Moreover, another problem is looming at Seraing, because the main owner has other plans.

According to The Team Frenchman Bernard Serin has decided to sell Seraing. Serin is also the owner of FC Metz, but is said to have had enough of his Liège toy and is therefore looking for a buyer.

Seraing without an owner?

In recent years, Seraing has occasionally received loan players from Metz, both in 1B and in the Jupiler Pro League, such as Mikautadze, for example. Now, after eleven years, the sister club relationship seems to be coming to an end.

If the people of Liège were to be relegated to the amateur series and also lost their owner, they would quickly have to look for a buyer and/or new funds to get back into professional football as quickly as possible.
