RIETI – The provincial student tennis championships have ended, hosted for two days at the municipal courts in via Theseider, with massive participation from first and second level institutes throughout the province.
In the Cadet category, absolute dominance of IC Sacchetti Sassetti who placed 3 students in the semi-finals confirming last year’s victory. On the podium, Sisti and Ricci in that order.
Individual victory for Michele Savelli who beats his teammate Giovanni Provaroni rather easily.
Among the Cadettes we witnessed a more competitive final which won Rebecca Pagano, from Fara Sabina, over the outgoing Pascoli champion Alice Crisostomi. IC Fara Sabina team victory over Sisti and Pascoli.
On Monday 22 April we will witness a real tennis marathon dedicated to the categories of secondary schools.
In the Students category, the victory went to the favorite Francesco Festuccia of IIS Rosatelli, surrounded on the podium by two students from the Liceo Rocci di Passo Corese, Francesco Tozzi and Nicolò Mirizio, who won the team title.
Among the students, victory for Beatrice Cinosi of the IIS G.
From Catino on Giorgia Santarelli of the IIS Elena Principessa of Naples and Francesca Fasano of Amatrice. In the team competition, Gregorio Da Catino prevailed over Jucci high school.
In the Junior men’s category, a clear team victory for IIS G. Da Catino with three athletes in the semi-finals and victory for Pietro Banchelli over Marco Monteneri.
For the female junior category, another title for Sara Valentini (Epn) after the one won in Badminton, with victory in the final over Anna Parisi from Amatrice.
The winning teams and the provincial champions of the Cadet and Student categories will compete in the Regional Finals at the Salaria Village in Rome at the end of May.
