About AS Monaco:

Monaco, whose basketball history dates back to 1928, experienced its first successes in 1950, when it finished second in France. After a few quiet years, Monaco returned to the top league with its second league championship in 1973, and started to appear in the international arena with the Koraç Cup during this period. Monaco, who lost the 1983 French Cup final to Limoges, fell to the fourth league in France after a period of decline.

Monaco, which went back to the first league with successive successes in 2012-2015, won the ‘Leaders Cup’ championship in France in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The red and whites achieved a significant success in 2017-18 by taking second place in both the Fiba Champions League and the French League.

Monaco, which appeared in the EuroCup for the first time in 2018-19, succeeded in advancing to the Top 16, but missed its ticket to the quarter-finals with the critical match lost to Rytas Vilnius. Monaco, which lost the French League to ASVEL in the fifth match in the final in the same season, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Eurocup, which was interrupted in 2019-20, known as the pandemic season. Monaco was also the leader in the French League with 21 wins and four defeats in the same season.

The red-whites won their first major cup by winning the EuroCup championship in the 2020-21 season and pocketed their EuroLeague ticket for the first time in their history.

Under the management of Sasa Obradovic, Monaco played in the Playoffs in the EuroLeague in the 2021-22 season, taking seventh place with 15 wins and 13 defeats, but could not avoid elimination by Olympiacos. The red-whites also reached the finals of the French League, but missed the championship opportunity by being eliminated by ASVEL 3-2.

While Monaco succeeded in playing in the Final Four in the EuroLeague in the 2022-23 season, it also reached a happy ending in the French League and French Cup.
