Puribec Senior Baseball League Extends Partnership with Water Treatment Company

The Puribec Senior Baseball League has just announced a five-year extension to its agreement with Puribec, a company specializing in water treatment solutions whose head office is in Rimouski.

This seventh agreement will bring to 23 the number of years of partnership between the league and Puribec. Its conclusion will culminate with the 50th season of the circuit which will be memorable.

“This is an important decision that we are making by signing a new five-year agreement. Several factors facilitate this decision, I am thinking in particular of the influence of the league in Quebec and New Brunswick, of the seriousness and the commitment of the volunteers who maintain the credibility of the league, but, above all, of the fact, that the leaders have accepted the challenge launched by Puribec in 2006 so that minor baseball youth have an important place in the overall animation of the league’s activities. Every year, we are delighted to see this commitment respected,” explains Stéphane Giasson, general manager of Puribec.

The president of the circuit, Denis Bérubé, underlines the longevity of this agreement. “We are privileged to have a company like Puribec as our main partner. It is not common to see a company link up over such a long period with an organization. It’s a sign of respect for all the volunteers who are involved in our teams,” he says.

Bérubé recalls that it was the late Alain Dumas, then president of the league, who was at the origin of the first memorandum of understanding signed in 2006 after discussions with the marketing director at Puribec at the time, Pierre Chassé , and Stéphane Giasson, general manager of Puribec.

“The three were visionaries. Twenty-three years later, we will celebrate together the 50th anniversary of the oldest senior baseball circuit in Quebec. As planned in the protocol, activities will then mark this very special year in 2028,” continues Denis Bérubé.

Until then, the 46th season is being prepared across the league. The media launch will be held in mid-May, a few days before the first “Play ball” announced for Saturday, May 18.
