Pascal Wehrlein wins race 2 at Misano

Less ridiculous and more spectacular than race 1 on Saturday (the two fewer laps undoubtedly made it possible to avoid a waiting race), the second round of the weekend at Misano offered fights and suspense until the end , and smiled at Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche), who won ahead of Jake Dennis (Andretti) and Nick Cassidy (Jaguar), who overtook Nico Müller (ABT Cupra) on the finish line, thus offering himself a second success this season, after his inaugural victory in Mexico.

With one lap to go, however, it was Oliver Rowland (Nissan) who was leading the proceedings. The Briton, winner the day before after the disqualification of Antonio Felix da Costa (Porsche), seemed well on his way to achieving the double in Italy. Despite having an energy reserve several percent lower than his pursuers, he did not slow down and attacked the last lap with a 1.5″ lead over Wehrlein. But his Formula E gave him a breakdown and he little by little slowed down, until his “racer” came to a complete stop.

Wehrlein was able to take the victory, with the bonus of the best lap of the race, and is back in the Championship, since he now occupies first place, tied with Dennis (89 points). Disillusionment on the other hand for Rowland, leader before the start, and who finds himself 3rd in the ranking (80 pts).

In the French clan, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS), 2nd on the grid and at the front at the start of the race, then fell inexorably in the ranking and could not finish better than 7th, two ranks behind Sacha Fénestraz ( Nissan). Norman Nato (Andretti), after a pit stop following the loss of his front wing in a collision, finished 16th.
