Kansas City Chiefs Extend Travis Kelce’s Contract Through 2027

The Kansas City Chiefs and tight end Travis Kelce have agreed to a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the two-time defending Super Bowl champions through the conclusion of the 2027 season, a person told made the agreement to the Associated Press.

This person spoke on condition of anonymity to speak with the AP on Monday because details of the contract have yet to be confirmed by the parties involved.

Kelce, 34, leads the Chiefs with 11,328 career passing yards. The one who was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft also caught 75 touchdown passes and, above all, allowed them to successfully defend their Super Bowl title and win a third Vince-Lombardi Trophy in five years.

Kelce has transcended the world of sports since beginning his relationship with American pop singer Taylor Swift. Additionally, the podcast he co-hosts with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce has become one of the most popular on the Internet. Kelce will also soon host a quiz game on the Amazon Prime platform.

Kelce signed a four-year, US$57.25 million contract extension with the Chiefs in 2020, after accepting a five-year, $46 million offer from Missouri in 2016. His new contract extension should once again allowing him to be one of the highest-paid tight ends in the NFL.

Separately, a person revealed to the AP that Jason Kelce will join the Monday Night Countdown team on the American channel ESPN next season.

This person confirmed the information to the AP on condition of anonymity on Monday since the ESPN/Disney channel has still not met with its clients to unveil its next broadcast schedule, a meeting which should take place on May 14 .

Kelce is expected to replace Robert Griffin III, who will continue to work for the channel, but as an analyst of American college football.
