Pan American Championships Results Impact Olympic Archery Qualification for Paris 2024

The Pan American Championships have officially gone to archive issuing some very important verdicts in Olympic archery qualification process towards Paris 2024. Focusing on the trios, Colombia in the men’s field (beating Canada in the shoot-off in the final) and the United States in the women’s field celebrated their five-hoop ticket.

These teams will therefore not participate in the World Pre-Olympic in Antalya (which will assign 3 slots for men and 4 for women) and will obviously not be taken into consideration for the repechage via world ranking on 24 June (in both sectors, the best two teams in the ranking among those who failed to qualify directly on the pitch).

Before the global Pre-Olympic, Italy will have another chance to qualify the teams at the European Championships in Essen (only one continental quota up for grabs). From a repechage perspective, the situation seems quite favorable for the Italian men’s team, currently second immediately behind China Taipei and ahead of India and China but with a fair margin over the other pursuers, while on the women’s side the Italian selection is sixth just 9 points behind 4th place for Colombia.
