On the last first leg of the title round, PFV Under 14 lost at home 31-70 against Granda College Cuneo.
As the final score says, there was basically no match, even if coach Davide SimoneAt the end of the race, he appeared quite happy with his performance, stating: “the girls performed well, despite the many errors caused by the great defensive pressure from their opponents”.
In fact, Cuneo pressed all over the field from the first to the last minute, driven by the almost “stereophonic” indications of his coach from the bench for 40 minutes, and this spasmodic pressure (even when the lead was twenty / ten points) put the Vercelli team were in serious difficulty and, on many occasions, were not even able to set up the offensive action because they lost the ball, while their opponents instead went to the basket.
Closed 6am-4pm the first quarterthe music didn’t change In the second (10-31) with the Vercelli team unable to score and, often, too firm on their passes, thus favoring the advance of their opponents, who were always lurking.
In the third periodhaving taken the measures of the Cuneo players a little, the young players of PFV managed to put together some well-constructed actions, also recovered some balls and scored a little more (13 points in the quarter which ended 23-54).
Maybe because the match wasn’t very interesting (for him), the referee, Mr., took care of it Barbasio (who whistled 13 fouls in total, of which 9 against PFV) to liven it up a bit, expelling the Vercelli coach in the 23rd minute for repeated protests, against yet another blatant foul allowed to happen to the detriment of the home team.

Despite the rather penalizing result in the score, it should still be underlined that some progress has been seen in facing the clearly stronger teams, and this is comforting for the future.
