The second row and captain of the MHR violently collided with the Ulster rear, shoulder to head. To collect the fourth red card of his career.

Funny match for Paul Willemse. Promoted to captain, the second row first scored Montpellier’s first try in the 10th minute of the round of 16 against Ulster. The MHR led 17-7 at the break against the Irish province, just before the turning point of the match.

In the 42nd minute, Willemse hit the back of Uster head-on (from 1’10 on the video below). Direct red card from the referee, Mr. Whitehouse. His second of the season after that collected with the XV of France against Ireland at the opening of the Six Nations Tournament (the 4th expulsion of his career…).

Reduced to 14, then even to 12 after two other yellow cards, the Cistes collapsed to lose heavily 17-40. Ulster will challenge Clermont at the Michelin stadium next Saturday in the quarter-final of this Challenge Cup.
