The NFL is coming to Brazil!
What sounds like a simple thought experiment was confirmed by the strongest football league in the world on Wednesday.
Accordingly, the Green Bay Packers will open their season on September 6, 2024 against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Corinthians Arena in São Paulo. Never before has an NFL game been played in South America.
Also special: The encounter between the Packers and the Eagles is the first season opening game on a Friday in over 50 years.
With the guest appearance, the NFL is further pushing forward its expansion policy. In the past, games have taken place in England, Mexico and Germany. Next season, three games will again be played in England and one in the Allianz Arena in Munich.
