Gwangtan Indoor Badminton Court is a badminton-only stadium built on two floors above ground with a total floor area of 745㎡ with a total project cost of 3.5 billion won, and is equipped with four courts.

The city began the project in November 2020 through a process of continuous communication and opinion collection with local residents and related organizations. Construction began in June of last year and was completed in March of this year.

Local residents of Gwangtan-myeon have been experiencing inconvenience due to insufficient sports facilities, but the construction of the Gwangtan indoor badminton court is expected to contribute to improving the health of local residents, vitalizing daily sports, and improving the sports welfare of all Paju citizens.

Paju Mayor Kim Gyeong-il said, “It is expected that daily sports will be revitalized for citizens who lacked space to enjoy sports.” He added, “Paju City will fulfill its role as a venue for the Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for the Disabled in April 2024 and the Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival in May, and provide premium sports facilities.” “We will work hard to move forward into the city,” he said.
