Minnesota Coach Chris Finch Suffers Devastating Injury During NBA Play-Offs Quarterfinals

Minnesota coach Chris Finch’s move to the quarterfinals of the NBA play-offs cost him dearly. The 56-year-old apparently tore his patellar tendon in game four of his Minnesota Timberwolves against the Phoenix Suns (122:116), as US media reported.

Just under two minutes before the end of the game, in the middle of crunch time, Mike Conley tried to dribble past Devin Booker near the sideline. After a slight push from Booker against Conley, he was no longer able to brake and collided with his own trainer. Immediately after the collision, Finch grabbed his right knee.

“I told him to sit down and not stand so late in the game. He’s in the way,” Conley said after the game: “But I’m praying for him, I’m sure he’ll be fine .”

After minutes of treatment, Finch had to be transported away. His assistant Micah Nori stepped in and Minnesota took the lead and the associated first quarterfinals in 20 years.
