Manama Club Basketball is a basketball club based in the city of Manama in Bahrain, it is part of the Manama Club sports club and competes in the highest national category, the Bahraini Basketball Premier League[1].
The team colors are blue, red and white; home matches are played at the BBA Arena in Manama which can accommodate up to 4,000 spectators.
The Manama Club is a multi-sports club that has teams from various sports, including football, which was founded in 1946, becoming one of the most important figures in the growth of Bahraini sport. The team is best known for its successes in basketball where it is the most successful team in the nation, having won the Bahraini Basketball Premier League 24 times, the Bahraini Cup on 18 occasions and the Bahraini Super Cup on six occasions.
The team has also achieved various successes outside national borders, the club was the first from Bahrain and the second from the countries of the Arabian Gulf to arrive in the first three places of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, thanks to the third place achieved in the 2000 edition; Manama also won the Gulf Champions Cup twice in the 1994 and 2001 editions. From the 2022-2023 season the team takes part in the new international competition of the FIBA West Asia Super League, making its debut in the first edition of trophy.[2].
On 17 June 2023, Al Manama, led on the bench by Linos Gavriel, defeated Al Kuwait 67 to 59 in the final in Dubai, winning the first edition of the FIBA West Asia Super League[3]. Given that in the same season the team also won the Bahraini Basketball Premier League[4] and the 2023 Bahraini Basketball Cup[5]Manama achieved the treble for the first time in its history[6].
By virtue of champions of the West Asia Super League the team was invited to participate in the 2023 Intercontinental Cup held in Singapore[7]. Inserted in the group together with the Germans Telekom Bonn and the Chinese Zhejiang G. Bulls, Manama failed to win any of the matches played, finishing the group in last place and also losing the final for fifth place against the G League Ignite.
