Lille-Aston Villa: a brawl between supporters before the quarter-final second leg of the Europa Conference League

A fight broke out this Wednesday evening near the bars of Old Lille. One day before the quarter-final second leg of the Europa Conference League between LOSC and Aston Villa, British supporters were attacked, according to our information. While they were helping a drunk person in the street, five hooded people attacked them.

Present on site, the police intervened and the attackers fled. Two of them were finally arrested and then taken into police custody. They also wore padded gloves. No injuries were ultimately treated by emergency services and the English supporters who were victims of this attack did not wish to file a complaint.

A thrilling first leg match

The quarter-final second leg of the Europa Conference League between Lille and Aston Villa takes place this Wednesday evening, at 6:45 p.m. at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Paulo Fonseca’s players would achieve a real feat if they qualified, since they would reach the semi-finals of a European competition for the first time in their history.
