In the end it was a clear 4:10 defeat for the home team from Stuttgart in the night game against Heidenheim Heideköpfe. After the end of the 7th inning, it briefly looked like a potential victory for the home team.

At the start of the game, the Reds quickly equalized after a 1-0 deficit with a single home run by Thomas Barrie in the 1st inning. After another five innings in which neither team put anything countable on the scoreboard, the Reds went hunting for points in the 7th inning. An error, a walk and a passed ball with bases loaded each gave the home team three points.

Stuttgart started the penultimate inning with a 4-1 lead. After 7 walks, one balk, one error, one wild pitch and just one hit, half an inning later it was 4:8 in favor of the Heidekopfs. In the last inning, Heidenheim added two more runs to make the final score 4:10.

The win goes to Christoph Ehrich. The ex-Stuttgart native replaced starter Sven Schüller on the mound from the 7th inning. Moritz van Bergen received the loss.

The second game takes place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Heidenheim.
