Claudio Panizza (27) qualified for the final phase of the A2 Series Judo Championships, 73 kg category, thanks to the silver medal won in the regional phase held at the PalaGorle in Bergamo. The Kodokan athlete had prepared for this race in Valencia, guest for ten days in the competitive polo managed by Sugoi Uriarte, former Spanish champion. After three confident victories, Claudio unfortunately lost in the final in extra time, still earning a pass to the final in Perugia on May 11th. Antonio Cau also tried for the Kodokan in the same category, but without success. Instead, Sakamoto Musashi, qualified by right for the Italian U15 championships in the A2 series, 50 kg category, will fly to Olbia at the end of May. His teammates Pietro Briceag and Eddygian Agali came close to qualifying in the 60 kg, missing it by just one match.
