JO1’s Takumi Kawanishi (24) appeared at the first pitch ceremony of the Giants – DeNA (Tokyo Dome) on the 6th. His pitching, which made use of his 15 years of baseball experience, drew loud cheers from the stadium.

Kawanishi, who appeared wearing a uniform with the number 25 on his back and colorful pants with his first movie starring “Buzzy Noise” engraved on it, took to the mound with a nervous look on his face and threw a ball with all his might into the mitt of catcher Shunsuke Sasaki. He seemed to put a little effort into it, and the ball bounced just short of the mitt, but the speed of the ball was an astonishing 125km/h, which caused a roar of cheers from the stands.

Kawanishi had a bitter smile on his face, but he pulled out with a smile and waved his hands as cheers erupted once again at the 125km pitch he delivered with his powerful and elegant form.

After completing the stressful role, Kawanishi said with a wry smile, “Well, I was particular about the ball speed, but it was 125km/h…I think I could have gone a little further.” Still, he experienced the mound of his dreams and reflected, “Well, well, I think I did my best.”

Kawanishi has been practicing with the members. Compared to the live performance on the mound at Tokyo Dome, he said with a grin, “I was definitely more nervous.” “I’m a little disappointed that it bounced off me,” he said with a regretful look on his face, but when he talked about the glove that “Okamoto lent me,” his eyes lit up and “It has a solid feel to it and is cool.” he said with a smile. Furthermore, Sasaki, who served as his catcher, pointed out the peculiarities of his pitches, which tended to be cut balls, but he also praised him by saying, “You’re a good pitcher,” and his white teeth spilled out.

At past first pitch ceremonies, javelin thrower Koji Murakami weighed 144 kg, comedian Hiroyuki Takagishi weighed 142 kg, actor Shotaro Mamiya weighed 139 kg, Golden Bomber’s Kenji Tarumisake weighed 135 kg, and GENERATIONS’ Mandy Sekiguchi weighed 132 kg. However, Kawanishi also carved his name into the history of first pitch ceremonies.

When it was decided that the first pitch would be held, Kawanishi said, “I’ve been playing baseball for about 15 years and have always been a supporter, and it’s a stage I’ve always dreamed of, so I’m nervous, but I’ll do my best to pitch. This is what I’ve dreamed of since I was little.” “I feel very humbled to be able to stand on the mound at Tokyo Dome,” he said enthusiastically. Kawanishi, who will be starring in the movie “Buzzy Noise” for the first time, declared, “I will pitch while hoping that the movie will be a big hit! I will throw 160 km. Thank you for your continued support.”
