Extraliga Olomouc secured the services of defender Jakub Sirota, who agreed with the management there to extend his contract for another season. The club informed about it on its social networks.
“Greetings to all loyal fans of Olomouc hockey. I would like to thank you all very much for a great season, for great experiences and I would like to announce to you all that we will do it together again!” announced Sirota via video.
“Don’t forget to cheer, come support and we’ll be looking forward to seeing you in the tin arena,” added the 25-year-old defender, who returned to the Czech Republic last summer after seven years abroad, where he gradually tried the junior USHL, NAHL and also the university NCAA.
In his first extra-league season, he surprised many hockey experts with his game, becoming one of the discoveries of the year. And after all, Radim Rulík also noticed his qualities, the national team coach called him to the preparatory camp before the World Cup.

” href=” In 45 games of the regular season, Sirota scored a respectable 19 points for seven goals and 12 assists for a defender, he was +10 in the balance of participation on the ice in terms of goals scored and goals conceded. He added five more starts and an assist in the playoffs.
