The quarter-finals at the European Badminton Championships in the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken have been played and the German hopes of a European title are over.

Isabel Lohau and Linda Efler, the last remaining German players to date, also have to pack their bags. The duo from 1. BC Bischmisheim lost on Friday to the third-seeded Bulgarians Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva.

Lohau and Efler show their opponents respect

Danes dominate the quarterfinals

Rasmus Kjaer and Frederik Søgaardw also won and reached the semi-finals after beating English duo Callum Hemmingethan and Ethan van Leeuwen (22:20, 21:9).
