Houston Texans Unveil New Uniforms Inspired by Fans and Tradition: A Look at the 2021 Designs

“For the first time since 2000, we are very proud to reveal our new uniforms. They are even more special because they are inspired by and for our fans,” said Texans President and CEO Cal McNair.

At an event held at the 713 Music Hall, located in Houston, Texas, the team’s stars were in charge of showing the four models that the team will use in the following campaign.

Receiver Tank Dell and defensive back Jimmie Ward came out on stage in the white away uniform and the team’s traditional blue helmet, while the mariachi performed ‘Negrita de mis penas’ to the uproar of the fans who applauded their players.

The Texans are one of 10 teams that, as part of ‘The International Home Marketing Area’ program, were assigned to Mexico to market their brand and expand their fan base.

The team’s home uniform maintains the classic used since 2000 in blue on the jersey and helmet in the same tone with the side decals of the bull’s horns on the sides. What’s new is the new secondary logo: an ‘H’ on the back.

The outfits fans were expecting were a pair of alternate uniforms. The first is in red, both jersey and helmet, in the latter there is a horn on each side in metallic blue that goes from the mask to the back of the helmet.

This was modeled by receiver Nico Collins, linebacker Christian Harris and the team’s mascot called ‘Toro’, who danced alongside American rapper Paul Wall.

The most striking of these kits is the alternative uniform made up of a black jersey and covers, with numbers and the player’s name in red and the helmet, also in black, but with a stylized ‘H’ in light blue next to a red star on each side. The Houston Texans are the youngest team in the NFL, founded in 1999.
