The handball Bundesliga club Rhein-Neckar Löwen has revealed “significant irregularities” in finances and sales. Now we have to save.

As managing director Jennifer Kettemann explained in an interview with the association, there were “not just simple errors, which can happen anywhere, but deceptions and untrue representations in our books.”

The club has already drawn “personal consequences,” Kettemann said. The club’s management is in the process of “processing the incidents as quickly and comprehensively as possible. Above all, we have reorganized the finance and sales team in order to do everything we can to ensure that things like this cannot happen again.”

Regarding the effects, Kettemann immediately gave the all-clear: “There is no cause for concern. The club is too broad and healthy for that.”

However, the managing director also made it clear that the club had to “overcome challenges due to the economic situation and the situation described”. It is also clear that “we have to make austerity measures in all areas.”
