The KNVB has appointed referee Serdar Gözübüyük for next Sunday’s cup final. The match between Feyenoord and NEC will be the second time that the referee will be allowed to use the whistle during the final of the TOTO KNVB Cup.
Gözübüyük receives support from assistant referees Erwin Zeinstra and Johan Balder. Jeroen Manschot is the fourth official. Pol van Boekel is the VAR on duty at the ARAG Replay Center in Zeist, where he is assisted by Patrick Inia.
In 2019, the 38-year-old referee from Haarlem already refereed the cup final between Ajax and Willem II. Now he is preparing to guide Feyenoord – NEC. Gözübüyük has already refereed Feyenoord four times this season. The first match was De Klassieker in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, which ended 0-4. He also refereed the away games against Excelsior (2-4), Vitesse (1-2) and PSV (2-2). In these posters he gave Feyenoord a total of nine yellow cards.
