German Judo Championships: Anja Ühlein and Christian Patzelt Take Home Titles

Anja Ühlein (JC Obernburg, F5 up to 78 kg) defeated Nicole Held from Eppelheim with a foot technique in her first encounter. An Uchi Mata in the second encounter brought the German championship title.

In the F6 weight class over 78 kg, Clarissa Peick (TV Elsenfeld) made it to the final. There she lost after three punishments.

For the men, Christian Struck from DJK Aschaffenburg competed in the youngest age group M up to 100 kg. In the weight class with the largest number of fighters, he defeated Reinländer Hennen with an inner sickle. In the semifinals he defeated Hennen (North Rhine-Westphalia) with a counterattack. In the final he had to accept a small score against Vartanian from Bremen, which he was no longer able to make up for.

His club mate Martin Hammer (DJK Aschaffenburg, M4 up to 81 kg) was able to defeat Max van Roden from Bochum with a hip throw after a bye. In the final he quickly took the lead against Kretschmer from Hürthen, but two scores against him meant runner-up.

Christian Patzelt (TV Elsenfeld, M6 up to 60 kg) did better. He won the championship title.

Denis Gotic from DJK Aschaffenburg came fifth in the M5 up to 81 kg and Dimitri Brister from TV Elsenfeld came seventh in the M4 up to 90 kg.

The regional association mixed team tournaments took place on Sunday. Christian Struck was used in all four matches for Bayern over 30. He won all four of his matches early and became German team champions with his team. In the final, where the score was 2-2 against the team from Lower Saxony after four matches, Christian Struck was able to shine. He defeated Tiede with an outside sickle and thus scored the decisive point to win the title for Bayern.

With the Ü45 Bayern, Dimitri Brister became German runner-up. Dimitri Brister was used once in four matches.

Anja Ühlein, Christian Patzelt and Clarissa Peick competed in the U55. A 6:9 final defeat meant the German runner-up team championship title for Team Bayern, for whom Clarissa Peick made three appearances.
