Former All Blacks assistant coach Andrew Strawbridge joins England squad

A permanent reinforcement for coach Steve Borthwick. The English federation has announced the recruitment of New Zealand coach Andrew Strawbridge as assistant coach ahead of this summer’s tour of Japan and New Zealand.

Recently working with the All Blacks staff, he had already given a helping hand to the fifteen de la Rose for a few weeks as a consultant during the Six Nations Tournament.

“His extensive coaching experience in Super Rugby and on the international stage, as well as his expertise in player development, complements our existing coaching group well,” Borthwick said in a statement. Andrew Strawbridge coached – in various positions – with Waiakato Chiefs for almost 10 years.

“I am extremely proud to be involved with the England coaching group and look forward to playing a part in helping the team achieve their goals,” Strawbridge said.
