In this scenario, Christian Gentner, previously head of professional football, would take Wohlgemuth’s role as sports director. According to the report, there is consideration to provide the long-time VfB captain with another man at his side due to his lack of experience at this level in order to be able to handle the range of tasks. Among other things, there is talk of a “transition manager” who will explicitly take care of the interface between professionals and highly gifted talent.
Armin Veh is said to have been among those present at the supervisory board meeting before the BVB game. The master trainer from 2007 is a candidate for the committee and should expand his sporting skills as much as possible.
