Without Thomas Tuchel (50), who was watching the game from a box due to his yellow card suspension, Bayern achieved a lackluster victory.

Tuchel before the game on the Sky microphone: “You can see well up there, but you have no communication with the players.”

There are seven changes to Bayern’s starting eleven. Sven Ulreich (35) replaces Manuel Neuer (38/adductors), who is not in the squad. Leon Goretzka (29/back problems) is also injured and is at least sitting on the bench. Shooting star Aleksandar Pavlovic (19) returns to the starting line-up after recovering from tonsillitis. Müller, Guerreiro, Tel, Coman and Mazraoui are also starting.

Tuchel said: “I like it because those who didn’t play have to show that they are ready.”

But only the people of Cologne are ready in the initial phase!

► 9th minute: Ljubicic passes through to Alidou, who narrowly misses from six meters.

A little later, Adamyan gets a free header between de Ligt and Dier, but Ulreich saves (20th).

But then Bayern wake up – and waste a lot of top chances!

► 30th minute: Kane plays Guerreiro in the penalty area, who misses the XXL chance while standing alone.

► 35th minute: Müller lets Kane through. His shot hits the inside of the post – Bayern’s 19th goal this season.

Shortly afterwards, the Englishman BVB Flirt Chabot tunnels and hits the ball past from an acute angle (38th). Kane ended up with 32 goals this season. With five game days to go, Lewandowski’s goal record (41 goals) is a long way off.

A little later, Tel hits the post from 14 meters. 20 aluminum hits are a season record!

The second half begins with a shock for Bayern!

► 47th minute: Coman dances past Chabot in the penalty area, but immediately grabs his right adductor area. The Frenchman is carried off the pitch with the support of the physios. He can’t stand at all, dragging his leg behind him.

Tuchel after the game on Sky: “Kingsley’s injury is the big downer. You could see it right on his face. It makes me very sad. I know how hard he worked. It will overshadow a lot of the game. He was ideal for the role of Serge.”

Sports director Christoph Freund about Coman’s injury: “He is now being checked out in the hospital. Unfortunately, things don’t look so good, he got a bite straight away. I hope it’s not a matter of months, but he’ll definitely be out for a few weeks.”

The next injury drama, after there had already been debates during the week about the 23 (!) muscle injuries suffered by the Munich team over the course of the season.

Guerreiro hammer redeems Bayern!

► 65th minute: Kimmich takes the corner briefly to the Portuguese. He puts the ball in front of him and hits it into the far corner at a whopping 113 km/h – 1-0!

The final phase will be dramatic again. Substitute Upamecano made a hair-raising bad pass from his own box into the feet of Waldschmidt. Dier is able to block his shot, Ulreich parries Tigges’ follow-up shot.

A little later, Müller makes everything clear – 2-0 (90th + 3).

Cologne central defender Hübers after the game: “Mainz’s cushion on us has increased. We have to make the next attempt against Darmstadt and get three points. Then hopefully we’ll be within one point of Mainz. Now we’re getting one after the other.”

Bayern ended their negative streak in the Bundesliga after two games without a win.

The situation is becoming more and more dramatic for Cologne. After Mainz’s win, the 05ers are already four points away. In two weeks the big relegation thriller will take place at Rheinhessen.
