The basketball players from Alba Berlin were unable to use their first match point for the first German championship. On Sunday, the capital city women lost in the fourth final game to defending champions Rutronik Stars Keltern with 55:64 (28:38). This means that the best of five series is now 2:2 and there will be a deciding game in Berlin in the Sömmeringhalle on Wednesday (3:30 p.m.). The best Berlin shooter was Marie Bertholdt with 17 points.

Not enough offensively
The hosts knew that they had their last chance to win the title and started with great enthusiasm. Both defensive lines initially dominated, but Keltern was in the lead from the start. Alba struggled offensively and kept coming close, but was unable to take a lead throughout the game.
In the middle of the second quarter, Keltern was able to pull away by double digits for the first time (29:19). The Berliners simply didn’t do enough offensively in this phase. But they didn’t give up and kept fighting back after the break. But the hosts always had an answer ready. Alba couldn’t get closer than five points.
