And you can play football on any football pitch.” The clubs are trying to win over children with “Baseball5”, a simplified form that is played without a bat. “I’m a teacher at a school, I’ll introduce it.” Faulhaber is hoping for a boost. “Unfortunately, there are no figureheads in baseball here like Pöltl or Raimann etc.” Maybe Alex Resel will become one. The Wanderers infielder is moving to the Be-Stars in Japan in the summer, where he will be paid for the first time. “Without money, many people lack incentive. There are a few players who come, but then they quickly stop,” sighs Resel.
