After its defeat in the quarter-final first leg at home (89-67), Asvel had to hope for a small miracle to qualify for the semi-finals of the Women’s League. It didn’t happen. Deprived of many players forming the “Dream Team” which achieved the Championship-Eurocup double last year, the title holders did not turn things around and suffered a clear setback on the floor of Basket Landes (79-60 ).
From the first quarter (22-7), the outcome of the match was in no doubt. If the Lyonnaises held on to win the second (18-19) and the third (16-18), the Landaises gave a boost in the last period (23-16) to win without difficulty. The season therefore ends with a series of nine defeats in a row (!) for Asvel. For its part, Basket Landes continues its journey and will try to regain the title acquired in 2021.
